Often times we're asked what makes Adventure Racing unique. We believe that the three main components that are unique to this exciting sport are Navigation, the Team aspect, and the off-road nature of races. After all, if the course were fully marked and flagged for you, shouldn't we just call it a "Team Triathlon"?!

One of the most exciting elements to Adventure Racing is the ability for you and your team to choose the route you want to take between checkpoints (routefinding) while using only your map and compass skills. Many teams end up DNFing (Did Not Finish) races solely due to navigation errors.
