We've partnered with Next Adventure to provide rental kayaks to our Wicked Gorge Racers. These kayaks are available on a first come, first serve basis only to teams that have fully registered for the Wicked Urban Race.

Next Adventure has single person flat water sea kayaks (sorry, no doubles) for $30/kayak. This rental fee includes pfd, paddle, and boat transportation to and from the Wicked Gorge Race location - Next Adventure will have the boat(s) ready and waiting for you at the race, so that all you need to do is show up on race day.

This fleet will not include any "sit on top" style kayaks. First come first served for the more performance-oriented boats. There are a limited number of boats available.

For those of you who are willing to transport a rental kayak yourself, we've made arrangements with another local shop that specializes in kayak rentals.

If you'd like to rent a kayak from Portland River Company, you need to contact them directly, and arrange to pick up and transport your boat yourself.

Rental rates are:

$40 plastic single kayak
$50 glass performance single kayak
$65 glass double performance kayak

Rentals include Paddle, PFD, Spray Skirt. Boats can be picked up on Friday evening, and returned on Sunday morning for the 1 day rental rate, if you specify this arrangement and make it clear that it's for the Wicked Gorge Race at the time of reservation. Take-away rentals are only available at their SW Macadam location.

They are a very popular kayak rental shop, and are prone to selling out on summer weekends, so make sure that you call them soon to reserve your kayak.
