Greetings Wicked Racers!

This should be the last and final update before the Wicked Gorge race!! We're very excited about this race, and are looking forward to a fun and wicked tough day for all. Here are the last of the details you should need:

ARRIVAL:

Pro Course Teams - please arrive at Beacon Rock State Park Boat Launch between 6:00 am to 7:00 am (NO earlier and NO later)

Sport Course Teams - please arrive at Beacon Rock State Park Boat Launch any time between 6:00 am and 9:00 am (NO earlier and NO later)

See attached maps for directions and arrival location.

Upon arrival at the Boat Launch, you will receive detailed instructions for the remainder of your check in process, including all gear drops. Please DO NOT arrive earlier or later than indicated. There are 3 TA drops that you must coordinate and complete prior to race start - it will be a VERY busy morning.

Beacon Rock State Park is roughly 45 minutes from downtown Portland. The best routes to get there are either I5 North to Highway 14 East (in Vancouver), or I84 East to I205 North to Highway 14 East.

Look for the "Wicked" A-Board along Highway 14.


EXTRA INFO:

As mentioned previously, there are areas of Poison Oak and Stinging Nettles. You may end up bushwhacking through these areas - so please consider wearing long pants or tights. You may want to bring Tecnu or a similar treatment.

You may want bug repellent - there are some areas thick with hungry mosquitoes...


PARKING:

There is a $5/day parking fee - Washington State Parks pass. You may obtain a permit from either the Boat Launch location, or from the Race HQ location. Rangers WILL be ticketing vehicles without permits.
