We've partnered with Next Adventure to provide rental kayaks to our Wicked Ocean Racers. These kayaks are available on a first come, first serve basis only to teams that have fully registered for the Wicked Ocean Race.

Please note that there will be no open ocean kayaking in this race. The Oregon Coast can be trecherous and is suitable for advanced kayakers only with experience in surf kayaking. This race will include kayaking in Nehalem Bay and Nehalem River. You'll still need to contend with strong currents and possible wind, but it will be within these protected waterways.

Next Adventure has single person flat water sea kayaks (sorry, no doubles) for $30/kayak. This rental fee includes pfd, paddle, and boat transportation to and from the Wicked Gorge Race location - Next Adventure will have the boat(s) ready and waiting for you at the race, so that all you need to do is show up on race day. If you have a PFD and Paddle - we'd like to ask that you bring it and use it ... PLEASE let us know if you have your own!

This fleet will not include any "sit on top" style kayaks. First come first served for the more performance-oriented boats. There are a limited number of boats available.

The Next Adventure fleet of rental kayaks has been rented out for this race.

Some of our teams have made arrangements to rent single and double kayaks through a local Nehalem Bay company, Wheeler on the Bay Lodge and Marina, picking the boats up Friday afternoon after 4:00 pm, and returning them Saturday afternoon/evening by 6:00 pm. Singles are $42/day, doubles $48/day. When you call, be sure to tell them you're in this race. They've been renting to other Wicked Teams.
