Shane grew up in the rugged Rocky Mountains of Northern Idaho where his experience in the deep forests and mountains formed a strong bond with the great outdoors.

A former US Marine, Shane also brings years of corporate experience as a Network Architect and Security Specialist to organizing safe, challenging, and successful events. Shane is co-founder of PDX Adventure Racer, a non-profit AR club based in Portland, Oregon.

An avid sportsaholic, Shane entered the Adventure Racing scene in 2002. After that first race, there was no looking back. Since then he's competed in numerous races, finally jumping into organizing his own events where he works to create the kind of adventure races that he loves to participate in himself.

"I'm creating the type of event that I hope for when I enter a race - well-organized, very challenging courses, with a few twists and surprises, just to keep things really interesting."

Shane is working on his Wicked evil laugh, which so many successful race directors have perfected.
