Portland, OR (November 15, 2004) - Wicked Adventure Racing is proud to announce the Wicked Adventure Sprint Series for 2005. This race series will highlight some of the most beautiful and challenging terrain in the Cascade Mountains, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon Coastline, and Portland Urban Landscape. The Wicked Adventure Sprint Series consists of four races; Winter, Urban, Gorge, and Ocean.

Teams will race with solo, two, three, or four person members and must complete the entire race course together. Events will include Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Trekking (hiking, trail running, etc), Ropes (rappelling, ascending, traversing), and Navigation. Strong team skills will be required for teams to successfully complete each race.

The Wicked Adventure Sprint Series races will range in length from 6 to 12 hours for the Winter, Urban, and Gorge races to the series finale race length being 12 to 18 hours. In addition to the main "Pro Course", beginning and recreational racers will have the option of selecting to race in the shorter "Sport Course" category. The Sport Course will provide a beginner friendly format that will range from 2 to 6 hours in duration, with the series finale race being 5 to 10 hours.

"One of the main concepts we are trying to promote with this series is a 'Race in a Day' format for local Portland Metro area racers," states Shane Gibson, CoOwner and Race Director for WickedAR. "Accelerated check in processes, late morning starts, and course proximity to the downtown metro area are all elements to our 'Race in a Day' offering," concludes Gibson.

Founded in October, 2004, by husband and wife team Shane Gibson and Kathleen O'Neill, Wicked Adventure Racing, LLC, is Oregon's only Adventure Racing Series. The 2005 Wicked Adventure Sprint Series is under way, with three more 6-12 Hour/3-6 Hour races planned for the season:

• Wicked Urban, June 4, in downtown Portland
• Wicked Gorge, July 16, in the Columbia Gorge
• Wicked Ocean, October 1, at Nehalem Bay State Park
