Chad Markle (age 33) was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and finally answered the call to "Go West" and moved to Oregon in 2003 after a short stay in Salt Lake City, UT. He recently moved back to Salt Lake City and is enjoying all the outdoor activities the area has to offer. It is proving to be a great place for him to hone his adventure racing skills.

Chad's competitive career started in college as a member of the Georgia Tech Rowing Team. After leaving the rowing scene, he spent a few years running and mountain biking until he discovered adventure racing as a way to combine all the activities he enjoys. The last 3 years have been focused on adventure racing.

Chad currently resides in Salt Lake City, UT and works full-time as a database administrator for Eschelon Telecommunications. and part-time as a bicycle mechanic with REI. Chad loves the outdoors and hates to sit still so he is constantly on the go. He is also one of the nicest "even keel" guys in Adventure Racing.
